About me
Hi, I’m Coen Hamelink — a Dutch illustrator, teacher, and illustration coach living and working in Castricum, a lively seaside village near Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
I believe in the power of imagery to add depth and emotion to stories. My style is colorful, distinctive, and theatrical—sometimes playful, sometimes layered.
With a background in visual communication, I work on a wide range of projects: from children’s books and covers to branding and educational illustrations. Clients appreciate my reliability, unique style and ability to quickly get to the heart of the matter. I enjoy collaborating from the concept stage. Together, we create images that truly stick with people.
Since I love sharing my knowledge and passion, I also offer creative and business advice to art academy students, aspiring illustrators, and fellow professionals.
